Solu-Cortef
Physicians have been known to use Solu-Cotef (hydrocortisone sodium succinate) to achieve rapid relief of symptoms in patients with a variety of severe inflammatory conditions. This injectable was the first synthetic corticosteroid introduced for patient use. Because it is reconstituted in a small volume of diluent, it is useful when high blood levels of hydrocortisone are required for immediate IV administration. This product is also considered to be short acting and is usually only used on a short-term basis.
