Dr. Henry Lok, DO
Bridging East and West, One Patient at a Time

Some physicians choose medicine. For Dr. Henry Lok, DO, medicine was woven into the fabric of his life long before he ever set foot in a classroom. A third-generation physician born and raised in Las Vegas, Dr. Lok grew up in a household filled with stories of healing, service, and the quiet dignity of caring for others. Today, as the founder of Lok Clinic and President of the Nevada Osteopathic Medical Association, he carries that legacy forward — with a practice that is as innovative as it is deeply human.
Roots That Run Deep
Dr. Lok's path to medicine was never a single dramatic revelation — it was a slow, steady pull rooted in family and heritage. Raised primarily in the Las Vegas area, he was surrounded by parents and grandparents who modeled what it meant to serve others through medicine. Their influence was profound.
"My parents and grandparents instilled in me a strong sense of duty, compassion, and the importance of holistic care," Dr. Lok reflects. "They taught me that medicine isn't just about treating symptoms — it's about understanding the whole person."
As a child, Dr. Lok was intensely curious, always asking "why" and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. That curiosity, paired with a natural compassion for those around him, pointed him toward healing early. By the time he was 19, watching his family members care for patients and witnessing the profound impact they had, he knew medicine was his calling.
Education Forged in Osteopathic Principles
Dr. Lok's formal journey began at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine, where mentors like Dr. Robert Kessler and Dr. Babuk Ghuman helped shape both his clinical skills and his philosophy of care. It was here that the whole-person, hands-on approach of osteopathic medicine resonated deeply with the integrative values he had grown up with.
He went on to complete his residency and pain fellowship at Larkin Community Hospital in Miami, training under the guidance of Dr. Joel D. Stein. That experience, he says, was the most formative chapter of his training.
"The rigorous, diverse patient exposure taught me adaptability, while the emphasis on osteopathic principles reinforced the importance of treating the body as an interconnected system," he says. "It also taught me humility — and the limits of what any one doctor can do alone."
Coming Home to Las Vegas
After completing his training in Miami, returning to Las Vegas was never in question. Home has always been home. "Las Vegas has always been my community," Dr. Lok says. "Returning after my training felt like the natural next step to continue my family's three-generation legacy of healing in the place where I grew up."
But Las Vegas is more than just home — it's the ideal environment for the kind of practice Dr. Lok envisioned. A fast-growing, diverse city with a population that faces distinct health challenges: the physical demands of hospitality and entertainment work, the toll of shift schedules, and the stresses of an active, high-energy culture. He saw an opportunity and a responsibility.
"The community's openness to integrative medicine has encouraged me to push the boundaries of combining osteopathic principles, regenerative techniques, and traditional healing methods," he says. "Their resilience has reinforced my commitment to unhurried, personalized care."
Building Lok Clinic: Vision Over Comfort
Opening his own practice was not without fear. Dr. Lok is candid about the challenges of stepping away from the security of established systems — the business side, the administrative burden of insurance and regulations, and the pressure of doing it all while maintaining an uncompromising standard of clinical care.
"The scariest part was leaving the security of established systems to handle everything from operations to marketing on my own," he admits. "The biggest unexpected challenge was navigating the administrative weight while maintaining the high level of clinical focus I wanted for patients."
But the lessons he gained in those early years — persistence, building a strong support team, staying true to core values — are ones he carries with him every day. Lok Clinic became the realization of a clear vision: care that is unhurried, integrative, and truly personalized.
A Practice Unlike Any Other
At Lok Clinic, located at 1818 East Desert Inn Road in Las Vegas, Dr. Lok serves children and adults dealing with chronic pain, musculoskeletal issues, and complex conditions where conventional treatments have fallen short. His approach is what sets him apart: a genuinely integrative model that blends osteopathic manipulative medicine, acupuncture rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, advanced pain management techniques, and lifestyle medicine — all under one roof.
"What sets us apart is the truly integrative model," Dr. Lok explains. "Patients receive unhurried visits and personalized plans. We treat root causes, not just symptoms."
His philosophy is disarmingly simple: Treat the person, not just the disease. Listen first. Empower patients with knowledge. Use the least invasive, most effective tools available — whether that's osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture, or advanced interventional techniques.
For patients who have spent years being dismissed or shuffled between specialists without answers, walking through the doors of Lok Clinic can feel like a turning point.
"Many of my patients have long-standing pain and had been dismissed elsewhere," Dr. Lok says. "Seeing their transformation through integrative care — combining manipulation, acupuncture, lifestyle guidance, and targeted interventions — reinforced my choice of this field."
The Reward That Never Gets Old
Ask Dr. Lok what keeps him going after more than a decade in practice, and the answer comes quickly.
"Hearing 'I can play with my grandkids again' or 'I have my life back' — that never gets old," he says with evident warmth. "The most rewarding part is witnessing patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and reclaim joy in daily life."
He hopes that every patient who leaves his care walks out feeling heard, respected, hopeful, and equipped with the tools to manage their health long-term. That aspiration — to leave people better than he found them — is at the heart of everything he does.
A Legacy Built on Heart and Integrity
Looking ahead, Dr. Lok's ambitions extend beyond his clinic walls. As President of the Nevada Osteopathic Medical Association, he advocates for greater access to quality, patient-centered care across the valley. And as a mentor and example to the next generation, he carries a message he is especially passionate about sharing with young women considering a career in medicine.
"Believe in your vision, build a strong network, prioritize self-care from day one, and don't be afraid to blend innovation with tradition," he advises. "The rewards of independence and authentic patient relationships are worth the challenges."
As for his own legacy, Dr. Lok is thoughtful and clear.
"I'd like to be remembered as a physician who bridged Eastern and Western medicine with compassion, helped reduce unnecessary suffering from chronic pain, and inspired the next generation to practice with heart and integrity."
In a city that never stops moving, Dr. Henry Lok has built something rare: a place where patients are finally encouraged to slow down, be heard, and heal.
